The Story

Two decades of shows, sessions, and stories. Some highlights from life on and off the road.

🎸

The Alice Cooper Gallows

Constructed the gallows for an Alice Cooper show. Just another day at work.

🎤

Tony Bennett

Met Tony Bennett — though sadly not on the same night as the Alice Cooper gig.

🗼

CN Tower with Jeff Friedl

Nearly got stuck on top of the CN Tower in Toronto with fellow drummer Jeff Friedl (A Perfect Circle, Devo, Puscifer) back in their college days.

✈️

USO in Qatar

Performed with Drink 182 at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar as part of a USO show — one of the most memorable gigs of his career.

🥁

Carnival in Trinidad

Performed in Trinidad & Tobago as part of an international touring career that hit 11 countries by age 21.

🚐

The Iowan Maiden

In true rock & roll fashion, Lance once spent 3 days hauling a 5th wheel RV from Arizona back to Minnesota for summer tours with the Devon Worley Band — barely making the gig in time. Panels blowing off, wheels popping, bearings needing greasing, and a desperate sprint through the desert searching for duct tape. The RV, nicknamed the "Iowan Maiden" for its sheer size and "squarish voluptuousness," survived to carry the band to Moondance Jam and down to Beaver Creek.

🧗

Billboard Climbing

Climbed billboards in Austria and Canada during touring days. Because why not.

🎼

John Cage's Third Construction

Performed John Cage's 'Third Construction' at the University of Arizona, then flew back to Minneapolis to play a colleague's recital at Ted Mann Concert Hall the very next afternoon.
